What We Do
Care for the Trails
Monitor, actively restore and maintain the trail network with the goal of providing a fun, safe, and sustainable recreational experience.
Provide well maintained trails to be used by many different user groups including hikers, bikers, equestrians, nordic skiers, dog sleds, motorcross, ORV, snowmobiles and 4X4s.
Minimize environmental impact through the process of evaluating existing trails and opportunities for new trails by utilizing and including appropriate specialists and groups to identify sensitive habitats and species to appropriately build a trail system with a small footprint.
Support the trail network to improve rural community economic opportunities through tourism recreation.
Provide education for all users on how to protect and enjoy these spaces responsibly.
Sign trails based on user types, seasonal restrictions, potential risks, and identification of alternate side routes to improve safety.
Focus on Sustainability
Our trail stewardship work focuses on maintaining or improving the trails while minimizing environmental damage. Our volunteer crews perform the following work:
Garbage clean-up
Installing signage, fencing, and gates to reduce improper trail usage
Grading trails to improve user experience and improve safety
Clearing downed trees, installing culverts and building bridges to reduce trail damage
